1995 Amateur sphere – Ivana FAITLOVÁ
* 21.2.1959 in České Budějovice. As a teacher of a Kindergarten School for Puppetry she began to devote herself actively to puppeteering in 1979 as an actress in the “STŘÍPEK” theatre of Plzeň. She passed the course of Kindergarten School Puppet School in Plzeň (Tomáš Dvořák), attended the studies of young people at Chrudim Puppetry (Jan Dvořák), various seminars for teachers of kindergarten schools, the puppet folk academy of Plzeň and more than 10 seminars for authors and dramatists of Chrudim Puppetry (both Luděk Richter)
In 1980, she came to the Chrudim Puppetry for the first time as a spectator and then in 1981-2001 already as the author of music with 11 productions of Střípek (+1 presented at the fair), in 1988 as co-author and since then as author of adaptations. Since 1981 as assistant director and since 1992 as director and mostly also as the actress. At the Chrudim Puppetry she won next to prizes for the ensemble also six prizes for production and direction.
Ivana Faitlová is one of the most expressive authors (mostly adaptations of lesser known epic works), remarkable for her sensitivity of the needs of the theatre as well as her language talent, and as a director with a distinctly feminine, but firm hand: Zlaté kapradí (Golden ferns), Klobásová komedie (Sausage comedy), Kerkonošská pohádka (Fairy-tale of Kerkonoše), Cikánské pohádky (Gypsy fairy-tales), Brum-pohadka (Brum fairy-tale), Modrý Mauricius (Blue Mauritius), Havrane z kamene (Crows of stone) a/o. Her musical sensibility helps her in this respect. In the puppet theatre she is an example with her dilligence and feeling of responsibility with which she successfully approaches the theatre which would entertain children as well as adults, along with the producers.
STŘÍPEK Plzeň
Originated in 1978 under the leadership of Dagmar (Dany) Jandová, director, adapter, artist and actress, joined after a year by the author, director, composer of music, actress and since 1992 as head of the theatre, Ivana Faitlová. All members of the theatre were, at the time, teachers of kindergartens which determined not only the responsible authorities but also the aims of the ensemble; the six to eight member ensemble creates mostly one production per year (about thirty in the course of its existence) and presents about thirty performances for pre-school and school children. The type of puppets changes according to the needs of the staging.
