Víťa Marčík is a comedian and clown in the true sense of the word. With undiguised pleasure he plays old stories so as to amuse the audience. And the spectators, concrete people, are the source of constant improvisaton. He can make fun of himself and everything he says and plays is the absolute truth for him. After all it is an itinerant comedian who is performing. And these were, at all times, welcome guests of the ordinary people.

(V.Predmerský, drama critic)

Teatr Víti Marčíka ( Theatre of Víťa Marčík)

was founded in the small village of Drahotěšice. It is an itinerant theatre of a few friends standing on the charcteristic charisma of Víťa Marčík – director, playwright, actor, musician… The focal point of interest is not only the creation of alternative puppet theatre but also the use of all available means to establish contact and communication with the spectator. The performances are full of the typical humour and wisdom of the folk narrator Marčík. Next to the by now classical fairy-tales which won many awards at theatre festivals in the Czech Republic as well as abroad, new productions for adults come into being (Robinson Crusoe, Mysteies of Buffo,) Meeting in Bethlehem…. However Teatr cannot be classified as a theatre genre nor for certain age categories. It is “a phenomenon of Southern Bohemia as described by MF Dnes.
