Tři zlaté vlasy děda vševěda (Three gold hairs of old man know-all)
scenario by Iva Peřinová, direction by Josef Krofta, Drak Theatre
An excellent cinematoscopic cabinet of stage designer Marek Zákostelecký who is shaping the light image projection – inaccurately called sets – as it also hits us with a lyrical vision- the fairy-tale area, which gives us a chance to experience the unexpected (such as the moment when the floating figure wades through the water on the horse’s back giving us a poetic breath-taking experience). The projection of pictures and the props used, refer to the poetry of the Baroque theatre on one side while on the other side the means of acting including the comunication with the puppet are rather reminescent of the poetry of the commedy dell’arte or even the grotesquely harsh theatre of the country fair. By combining, contrasting and conflicting these two poetries a highly thrilling aesthetic imagery occurs, thus an experience. Actors consistently manipulate the figures in the spirit of these poetries and with the well known Drak skills play with our involvement and withdrawal. Metaphors, images dominate.
